Our Beliefs on HealthFUL Living

In America today, it seems there is a “diet” philosophy for every day of the month. It’s confusing at best. Our team has done years of extensive research, worked with contemporary nutrition experts, studied nutritional science and worked hard to uncover the truth about healthFUL living. At the end of the day, we have developed our truth … a truth we believe in strongly enough to defend it every day with our lives.

We realize coming to your truth is a process that takes time. There is much information, misinformation, conflicting data, interpretation, and, well, just plain nonsense to sort through. If you are like most, you will want to explore and experiment until you come to a place that makes sense for you.

We expect that you may disagree with us about some of the details relating to healthFUL living. Heck, there are a handful of details we don’t even agree on among ourselves! We think that’s OK… there is still much good that can be done. We are hoping you will join us with an open mind, using the following as a foundation on which we will begin building together:

  • Whole foods, from local sources whenever possible, that are not polluted by chemicals or other additives, are the most wholesome and nutritious foods for everybody
  • What you put into your mouth is as important as what you keep out; nutrient-dense foods are essential to proper nutrition
  • Science, not politics, profits or fads, will provide the most accurate information on which to base your diet and lifestyle decisions
  • There are good fats and bad fats; getting straight around each is critical to your health and wellness (and for the record, the vast majority of the population is confused about this!)
  • “Diets” will never provide long term weight loss results and are extremely damaging to your metabolism; each of us must find a way of eating that allows us to meet our life goals and matches our life style so we can stick to it over time
  • Disease and nutrition are intricately linked; it is a myth to believe that disease is simply a predictable outcome of old age
  • Regardless of your dietary preferences, balancing food groups is essential; there are many “bad” foods, but no “bad” food groups
  • There is no perfect way for everybody to eat; each of us must find a sound set of principles on which to build a food plan that works for us
  • HealthFUL living spans beyond diet, so we must pay attention to the other elements that impact our health such as environment, stress levels, and physical activity
  • Anyone who says they have found a “short cut” or “magic fix” is lying … pure and simple
